She has now edited over 150 books and counting. Although these books span all fiction genres and nonfiction subject matters, her particular areas of interest are legal suspense, mystery, and science fiction/fantasy for novels, and law, history, and political science for nonfiction. Brooke is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, the major professional organization for freelance developmental and copy editors.

In her own writing, she was principal author of Bankruptcy Strategies for Lenders (2nd Edition) and has sold a number of mystery/suspense and sci-fi/fantasy short stories.
